TDEE (total daily energy expenditure)
TDEE is the total calories you burn per day, adding physical activity and exercise to resting expenditure.
Also known as: Total daily energy expenditure
It is the reference for setting daily calories: eating near TDEE maintains weight, below it creates a deficit and above it creates a surplus.
It is an estimate, not an exact number — real expenditure varies with body composition, sleep and daily activity, so it pays to adjust based on how your weight actually responds over the weeks.
