Whey protein

Whey protein is a concentrated protein source from milk whey used for convenience to complete daily intake.

Also known as: Whey

Whey is not mandatory for hypertrophy. It can be useful when it makes hitting daily protein easier, but regular foods can play the same role.

When comparing products, looking only at the tub price is misleading. The real cost per protein considers price, weight, serving size and protein per serving.
