Concurrent training

Concurrent training is combining strength training and aerobic (cardio) work within the same training period.

Also known as: Strength + cardio

It applies to almost everyone who wants muscle and conditioning together. It is usually manageable; the so-called 'interference effect' (cardio slightly hurting strength and muscle gains) appears mostly when aerobic volume is very high, especially running, and when strength and cardio sit too close together.

In practice, it helps to separate the stimuli within the day or the week, prioritize strength when it is the goal and adjust cardio volume. SelfShapeAI considers your goal and routine to organize training so strength and conditioning coexist without getting in each other's way.
