Fat-free mass
Fat-free mass is the estimated body weight left after removing fat mass.
Also known as: FFM
It is used in calculations like FFMI because it adjusts body weight by the fat estimate. If the reported body-fat percentage is wrong, fat-free mass is distorted too.
The value is more useful for context and trends than for concluding individual potential or comparing people without looking at the measurement method.
