Muscle failure

Muscle failure is the point where you can no longer complete another repetition with good technique.

Also known as: Training to failure · Concentric failure

Always training to failure is not mandatory and can hurt recovery and total weekly volume.

For most people, leaving 1 to 3 reps in reserve on most sets balances stimulus and recovery better.
